American Idol

Hi *Beautiful Peeps!

I'm blogging from office again :) hush-hush!

This will probably be my last blog entry till my boss is out of town again. A week without the boss around has definitely been pleasant. If only this happens more often, as in, her vanishing leaving town/country for meetings and such.

Although the work load does not lessen when the boss is not around, it still bring relaxation to the body, sanity to the mind and sweetness to the heart! *smirk*

I've been watching American Idol now that it's back in season. Simon Cowell.. a man u'll love to hate!Just like Dr. House (Hugh Laurie)! Muahaha. You can't really blame him for all some of the comments he made rite? I mean, come on!

American Idol has only been aired on Star World twice this week and there's already some pretty disturbing contestants. No. Seriously.

Deputy Sheriff Brandon sang "I Shot the Sheriff". His lyrical version of this song contains only the line "I shot the sheriff but I did not shoot the deputy." He sang it over and over and over again. Quoting *Curlio.com --"I didn't think the torture would ever end"

Then, there is Crystal Parizanski who wears a really really really weird tan. She whines speaks in a really annoying "oh, I am so00 cute" kinda voice. Simon was definitely not impressed. Simon went on and on about her tan and 'lil cutesy just don't seem to get it. She replied "Oh I'm gonna sing..." to every question Simon asked 'bout her tan.

Just when you think that everything is gonna be just fine, Paula and Randy said "Yes" to Dave Hoover. Simon asked if Paula and Randy were completely insane. It's a yes for me.

  • He doesnt wear shoes or any footwear
  • He said that animals talk to him in english but in a cartoonish manner
  • He has way too much of energy, which, he burns by jumping and moving around, inside, outside, upright, downright...as in, all the time

Enuf said. Stay tuned to American Idol.

Gotta go finish up my work. It's been pleasant blogging from the office. After this you'll probably hear no more from ::in the shoes of shu:: till I manage to gather my senses during the off-days or when boss is not ard.

CFers reunion, reunion, reunion!! yay.. tomoro in Sunway Pyramid. Cable Car. 11:30AM.

Adios.

--Just Shu--

*Beautiful - No, not that kinda beautiful from Malaysia's Most what?

*Curlio.com - a random site I found after I googled 'American Idol-highlights'

The Other Side Of Me by Michael W. Smith

If they were to write about
The story of my life
They would have to mention you
With every page they'd write
There's another side to every story told
If I were the ocean
You would be the shore
One without the other one
Would be need something more
We are the shadow and the light
Always love me
Never leave me now
Now you are the other side of me
I have known the emptiness
Of feeling out of touch
and living life without you here
Would be living half as much
'Cause I've a need that only you could fill
If love was mathematical
You'd understand the sum
To the heart's equation
Where one and one makes one
and lonely equals me minus you

Short update..

Dear all,

Happy New Year! Much has happened since my last post. From a wonderful and funtastic Christmas party to my admission to SJMC and from my tonnes of work to a non-spinning wheel on my car.

I was on MC three days before Christmas. I went to the office early that morning and paid the in house doc a visit, and much to my joy surprise I was told to come home and rest. I was down with fever. I went back to the office and told my boss. And I got the "look" from my boss.

I was on leave the day before Christmas eve. On Christmas eve I was urm.. wrapping presents I think.

On Christmas night, our cell's Christmas party was held at my place. Funtastic! I really had the intention to post up the pics here but it seems that I'm having problem doing that. So, if you're interested, the pics can be found in my photo album. Browse under the tag: Christmas.

Few hours after all that, I felt a pain in my abdomen. Thinking that it could just be the usual gastric pain, I ignored it and went to bed. Early the next day, the pain did not go off at all. It actually got worst. The pain in the abdomen has increased, I felt like vomitting and passing out and had aches all over. The doc suspected that it was appendicitis. He wrote a letter for an admission to emergency room in SJMC just in case my condition worsen later in the day. Before leaving, I got a jab from the doc since pills was a no-no just in case I had to go for a surgery.

At 11.00pm that same day, my parents took me to SJMC and I was literally wheeled in to the emergency room. Had to do urine test and blood test. Clinically, I was diagnosed with appendicitis. I suffered had another jab and had to gulp down a very very nasty pink liquid. yuk! beyond yuk! Two hours later, my test results came out. Test results shows that everything is fine. But, clinically I was still diagnosed with appendicitis. I was admitted for observation. I was put on drip. They were preparing me for a surgery the next day.

Day break came, I was wheeled downstairs for an ultra sound scan. Waited till the afternoon when suddenly a guy with an air-fro hairstlye and blink blink shirt barged came in and checked my condition. Thank God, the final result concluded that it wasn't appendicitis. Then, the surgeon broke the news that all this pain is caused by bleeding ovary. I was told to spend days lying down with minimal movements. I had to swallow my food lil' by lil'. Small portion at a time. I was discharged that afternoon itself. Was given MC for 4 days, 7 painkillers. The bleeding, it seems, will heal by itself. So.. yeah. Oh, and I am thankful for those smses from my cell members!!

On new year's eve, I was at home watching I Robot and Man Utd match. It was good. My family was home as well.

On New Year's day, I was on duty in JC. I was glad to be back on my feet! hahaha.. yeah, literally!

When I returned to the office, tonnes of work has pilled up. Including photostating, faxing, picking up calls. Oh well, guess I'm the office boy girl for my boss too!

On Friday, we had to move out from our current office. We are moving somewhere else temporarily. I had to pack for my boss as well. bleh!!!

Today, the left tyre (the back) of my car has decided to take a break on it's own. It's not spinning. My car has to be towed away tommorow for medical check up. Urgh!

I'm not done blogging yet. But I really need to land my head on the pillow. I've got a crazy day ahead in the office.

CRAZYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!

oh, church was superbly fun today!!! woo hoo!!!!!!!!

p/s: I really do miss CF lots!!!!!!!!! waAaaaAa!!! I miss the CFers!!!!!!

Gifted, Very Gifted

You know, I really do have very gifted n famous friends. I'm so proud of 'em! Yes, you might have guessed, I'm gonna do a CD promo again. This time, local artists.

I'll upload the album pics when I get to blog from home. Am blogging during lunch hour, which means I'll have to do this real fast. Gonna do a promo for one of em first.

Jonathan Tse, Purpose

Jonathan Tse, or more commonly known as Jon Tse by INTI CFers, who hails all the way from Labuan, has just recently released his very first album, entitled Purpose.

"A dream come true" he said.

Not only is he gifted with looks and good heart, he is also very gifted in terms of song writing and musical talents. He' s also a youth pastor in a local church in Sunway.

Find out more at www.jonathantse.com . I assure you that it's a fantabulous album! (although i've not heard it yet. But I've known him long enough to assure you!)

Just thinking about the joy, smiles, laughters, love, hugs and silly things that comes with the "Christmassy" mood is enough to turn dreadful days into B-E-A-Utiful days.

A Week At Work

I had a horrible and dreadful week at work this week. HORRID!!!! urgh, but I'm still thankful that the BIG GUY up there has carried me through this disastrous week :)

Sometimes I wonder if I've chosen the right path. Sometimes I wonder if it's really His plans then y am I so annoyed.

Hmm..nyways, besides a horrible week at work, my husky voice that resulted from the cough, sore throat and fever has finally healed a little after a week plus.

MC

I'm not at work today. Too sick and tired for work. Been sick for a week plus. It started with a sore throat then it went on to cough and then a slight fever. As many of ya would have known by now, that each time I get a cough, it's always a bad one. It's fine when I don't cough but once it gets started, it won't stop till it's all out. Secondly, once I start coughing, my tone of voice changes..many variations to that! hahahahaa..

I've not been able to sleep at all for the past 2 nights since I've been coughing till day break! Since I've not been getting enough sleep, I'm feeling very tired, sleepy, drowsy and with the fever ... urgh.. there's no way I can survive work today. So I took MC lor..went to my fav clinic in USJ 11. Got an MC. Stayed home. Had porridge for breakfast, lunch and teatime. Took some naps. Took medicines. Had very bitter herbal tea. Need to get back to work tomoro..*bleh* hahahaa

Gotta go now.

Till then..

Eximius Showcase

I played the guitar on stage! :) Was supposed to play on both Saturday and Sunday but I didn't manage to play on Saturday since I was really quite tired after the Convo in INTI Nilai.

Then, the hour came..MK and I walked into Maranatha Hall (the auditorium), equipped with very stylo guitars! Ahh.. Anxious I was. Tensed I was. Nervous I was. After making some noise with our stylo guitars, Andy came backstage with the worship team for the day and went "Ok, you guys play the guitar (for heart of worship) and accompany us while we worship" I was like "what?" We played Heart of Worship for sure. The song that we were showcasing. We played and prayed along when the worship team prayed. Then, after the announcments, it was time, as the students from the beginners class went ahead with their presentation, I was backstage with MK and my knees were knocking and I almost sunk through the floor. :P Then, it was out turn. Five of us from Andy's intermediate (gosh..and I thot I was still beginners class), One pianist from Karen's class and Two vocalists from Liang's (yes, the guy with the album) class. We started by plucking the song in D. Just us, the guitarists, then the piano came in E and F. Yes, I survived (With lots of mistake) from D to E and finally ended with F.

Ahhh.. tension giler!!! Imagine, a large crowd staring at ya, and some professionals on stage backup'ing (u know...just in case) and some more professionals backstage peeping through the curtains!!!! AHHHHH tensionnya!

Convocation! Convo!! Convo!! Convo!!

Ms. Robina D. Tinawin! A lecturer and a friend that has left an impact ( a good one) in the college years of my kor kor and I!

From L to R: Randy David, Teng, Me-myself-and I, and Alicia!!

Choon Teck and I. Choon Teck graduated with a Comp. Sc. Degree, also from Coventy Uni.

We are friends, classmates and project group members.. yeaps.. all the way.
Teng (on the far left) has been my classmate ever since the very first day of class in INTI. If you ask him how am I in class he'll say " she is always sleepy, always hungry " Teng is one among the not so many smart student in class. He doesn't need to pay attention and yet he can still score a hundred times better than those who try to pay attention in class...yeaps..! KC, 3rd from the left..has been my classmate since my very class after the foundation level. KC is probably the most generous friend I have in college. Teng and KC are both CFers too!!! yeay!!!!

Ladies and gentlemen, it is my privileged to introduce to you, the vibrant, the loving, the hardworking, the ganas, the kecoh, the dynamic, the smart, the ever smiling, the one and only.. MISS KHOR KHENG LEIK!!!!! yeay *clap* *clap* *clap*. She's the programme coordinator for American Uni Programme. Big shot I tell ya! She's the only lecturer that I've come across with that awards uhm I mean punish her students by asking them to gobble down good food if they don't know how to answer her questions. For all of us who knows her, it really did cross our mind that we might just switch from whatever we are studying to her course. Nyum! Besides being the lecturer that everyone adores, she's also a friend that is always always cool ..and a mommy in college that keep tracks of our every single move. If you skip class, you'll be dead! Apart from the many roles that she has played in our lives.. she is also the CF advisor. Oh boy! we adore her!!!! ( Ms Khor, where's my free dinner?) hahahahhaha.... I can go on and on...bout her.. but it'll be too long for me to write. Jusk ask anyone that knows her, they'll tell you da same.

On the left is Teng. On the right is Terry. Hmm.. we all look so good in this pic! :P

You see that? that's not my work. It's definetly God's hand at work. It's indeed a miracle. Definitely. No Doubt. Thank you Jesus. Give You back ALLLLLL the glory Lord!

That's Pastor Mike from FGA .. heheheh.. no, not the one standing beside me. The one in blue, in the background of pic.. That's Pastor Mike. No doubt, I was surprised to see him there. So suprised that I lupa to take a pic with him. Ok.. the guy standing next to me is Terry Yeow. He's from FGA.. he's a youth leader there.. (ahh..now you know y pastor Mike is there?) oh..he's also from the Heartbeat band. ok..Terry.. hmmm....he is seriously the most non-sen-si-cal, gross, insane, crazy friend. Really! Terry graduated with a Software Engineering degree.

Oh..happy days..oh happy days.. hehehe.. ladies and gentleman, that's my kor-kor, sis in law, daddy and mommy smiling in the pic..!!!!

Blog Hiatus

Dear all,

I'm gonna go on a blog hiatus. Will blog when I really do find the extra energy and time. This hiatus is due to the very fact that I've been and will be very busy with work in the office. I've started work with J&J on the 7th of November, Monday. It's been a week since I started work. Believe it or not, I'm already tied down with heaps of work in the office. Apart from the tasks that I've to complete, I'm also learning and picking up lotsa other job related stuffs from my boss. In other words, it's an on the job training. My official job title is "Strategic Sourcing Admin Analyst". Yes, I'm working at the Strategic Sourcing dept. J&J peeps will find the term Regional Purchasing familiar since that's what the department was named before I joined J&J.

Work is tedious. Very. Involves lots of chemical names, values, words, suppliers, FOREX and etcetera. Besides equipping my brains with lots of chemical INCI names, trade names, currencies related information, I'm also, at the same time trying to improve my communication skills *Bleh..*

My working hours (as stated in the contract) is from 8:30AM to 5:15PM with a 45 minutes lunch time, 2 tea breaks, one at 10AM and another at 3PM. That's in the contract. In reality, I start working at 8:00AM and finishes earliest at 6 plus.. Of course, once or twice in a week, I've left the office at 5:30PM. Also, in reality, the tea breaks at 10AM and 3PM doesn't exist since there's so much of work. *bleh*

Lunch is almost always in the canteen. There's no nearby makan place around J&J, except for a road side mamak in a lorong across J&J. If canteen food is not good enough, then I'll have to drive out to makan. Probably PJ old town, Amcorp..yeaps. I've been eating in the canteen everyday except for Tuesday. Went out for lunch with Karen Ong from JC, whose also working in J&J but different department. Canteen food is kinda good. But it depends, Some days it's good some days it isn't. BUT..it's cheap! :)

How's my boss like? hmm.. she' nice, patient. Ahh.. trust me she's nice, she's really patient with me, she doesn't flare up when I make mistakes (So far lar..) and, she borrowed me her tag to buy stuffs at our staff shop since my card will only be activated for the staff shop next month, AND since she's a full time worker and I'm a contract worker, the prices vary a tiny bit. Permanent emloyees gets stuffs at a very very very much cheaper rate. Contract employee like me, also gets stuffs at a cheaper rate compared to non J&J peeps.

My salary? salary is seriously good enough for a fresh grad. Ah.. but I've already briefly calculated . I'm already running low in revenue. But still enough to go through every month with enough to eat, enough to wear. Besides all the expected outgoing salary, did I mention that the total cost for my car repairs cost me around RM 3###?? and that's excluding the RM ### when I had the tyres changed earlier on. Now, that's running low.

With the brain usage reaching it's peak level each day, I'll already be drained out when I reached home. I'll wash up, have my dinner, watch my quota of TV for the day (doesn't require much brain usage), head straight to bed. Wake up the next day and the cycle of the working life starts turning.

Despite work, other areas in life such as Church, JC, Cell, Guitar Class is still in the run as usual, just better! :)

Till then, everyone do take care of yourself. I'll check my mails once or twice in a week from the office, my handphone will be on, so yeah, I still can be contacted.

MSN, Yahoo Msger is a NO-NO in office, even if it is, my status would probably be offline, away, busy or idle. So yeah..why bother. *hmrph..*

All in all, I really do thank God for this job, my results, friends, colleagues, ministry, family, things in the past, present and things to come. Indeed, HE is my Lord, great comforter, everfaithful friend, and loving heavenly Father. Thank you JESUS.

Of Shell & Awana :P

8:30AM Telephone Interview With Shell
(Equivalent to Face-to-Face Interview)

The telephone interview with Shell lasted for about half an hour. Lots of questions were asked. Including these:

1. What do you think of the National Park?
2. Can you name some advantages of the National Park?
3. What about the disadvantages of the National Park?

Apart from these 3 questions, I believe I've done fairly well. Hehehe..For the 3 questions above..urm..I think I crapped my way through .. hehehe..

Anyways.. I guess I'll be working with J&J for sure adi. :) Why not Shell since it's a bigger company?

1. I doubt I'll make it pass the benchmark they've set.
2. Even if I did pass the 1st stage interview, I'll still need to wait till their recruitment day for another intervew...(Will be starting work with J&J next mth..no time to wait)
3. Even if there's enough time, I doubt I'll make it pass the final stage. :) hehehehe

After all that is said.. things will be like that...UNLESS God plans otherwise. But I do think that the J&J job is the one.

Away For The Weekend

I'll be in Awana this Saturday and Sunday with cell members for a cell retreat. Guitar class this Sunday is cancelled since Andy will be away as well and there will not be a replacement sifu teaching since both mua and a fren won't be around.. (our attendance record is top notch..hehehhe.. ) . We also swapped JC duty weeks with the other two teams and will replace at the end of the month.

Two of my cell members will b driving. Please keep us in prayers. We will be having our cell cum service meeting in Awana.

J&J and Shell

Johnson & Johnson (J&J)

Today, 17th of October 2005, I made a trip to J&J again for my second interview. I'm employed! :) hehehe. The first interview was with my-soon-to-be direct boss. Today's was with both my soon-to-be-direct boss and and soon-to-be-indirect boss. Indirect boss is a Japanese lady. Didn't get to meet her face to face. The interview was conducted the 'teleconference' way. Quite fun :) hehehe. The position I'm hired for is known as Contract Analyst. It's a new position. The job invovles sourcing for raw materials for the J&J all over Asia. Besides sourcing, my soon to be job also involves analysing data, a lil' liasion with suppliers from different countries...hehehe..etc etc etc.

I'll be signing the contract with J&J within this week or latest by next week. Will start work on the 2nd week of November.

Shell

In the evening today, I received a phone call from Shell. Called up to arrange for an interview! hahahaha.. oh! It'll be a telephone interview. This Wednesday, 8:30AM. This telephone interview is equivalent to a face-to-face interview.

I don't know what position will I be in for yet.

You know, I've not thought of giving Shell a try before. I applied for Shell online..just for the fun of it. Not knowing that they will call. hahahahaha..anyways.. will be giving the interview a shot.. and see how it goes.

ah.. I think I'll still end up with J&J.. (which I seriously seriously don't mind) hehhe..unless.. God plans otherwise.. Pray along with me if you have the time K..hehehhe

woke up early this morning, at around 8:30AM. Bathed, changed, etc..etc... took hold of my guitar, went into the car and drove to GT in Jalan Gasing (not the one in section 13) for June & Mun Hao's wedding reception..uhm..ceremony. Had to be there by 10:30AM cuz I was supposed to be handling the LCD...so had to run through everything with the worship team to avoid mistakes. The wedding reception started at 11:30AM went on till 12:40PM..then we proceeded for lunch.. till about 1:30PM. Took photo with the bride. MK and I left for GT in Section 13 for guitar class at around 1:40PM. Reached GT section 13 at around 2:00PM. Class went on till 3.00PM today. MK and I left church at around 3:15PM.. reached Mee Keng's place at around 4:00PM. I left her place and reached home at around 4:20PM. Took a lil' rest. Very Little Rest. 4:50PM.. I took bath, changed, and got ready to go out for the wedding dinner in Sheraton Imperial in KL. I left my place at about 5:50PM and reached Mee Keng's place at about 6:10PM. Mee Keng drove ...carpool mar.. Mee Keng had to be there slightly earlier. Dinner starts at 7:30PM. Off we went.. traffic jams, wrong turns.. heheheh.. we made it in time. 7:15PM. The whole thing actually started at 8:00PM and went straight on till 11:00PM.. (tat's cuz we had to make a move earlier.. need to be in church early on Sunday). Reached back home at around 12 ++..AM.

Wedding Dinner.. there was about 3 tables full just for us ..haha.. JC peeps. Our team was seated at the same table..lemme see.. Cindy, Simone, I, Mee Keng, Juliet, Angie, Josias, Felicia, Alvin and Ps Raymond. .. and yes....dinner was filled with laughter. hehehe...I shall not elaborate or point out the topics that we were laughing about... :P

Ahh.. long day.. but it was a fun filled day. Minus the point of regret. hmm..If Only..
