Dear all,
I'm gonna go on a blog hiatus. Will blog when I really do find the extra energy and time. This hiatus is due to the very fact that I've been and will be very busy with work in the office. I've started work with J&J on the 7th of November, Monday. It's been a week since I started work. Believe it or not, I'm already tied down with heaps of work in the office. Apart from the tasks that I've to complete, I'm also learning and picking up lotsa other job related stuffs from my boss. In other words, it's an on the job training. My official job title is "Strategic Sourcing Admin Analyst". Yes, I'm working at the Strategic Sourcing dept. J&J peeps will find the term Regional Purchasing familiar since that's what the department was named before I joined J&J.
Work is tedious. Very. Involves lots of chemical names, values, words, suppliers, FOREX and etcetera. Besides equipping my brains with lots of chemical INCI names, trade names, currencies related information, I'm also, at the same time trying to improve my communication skills *Bleh..*
My working hours (as stated in the contract) is from 8:30AM to 5:15PM with a 45 minutes lunch time, 2 tea breaks, one at 10AM and another at 3PM. That's in the contract. In reality, I start working at 8:00AM and finishes earliest at 6 plus.. Of course, once or twice in a week, I've left the office at 5:30PM. Also, in reality, the tea breaks at 10AM and 3PM doesn't exist since there's so much of work. *bleh*
Lunch is almost always in the canteen. There's no nearby makan place around J&J, except for a road side mamak in a lorong across J&J. If canteen food is not good enough, then I'll have to drive out to makan. Probably PJ old town, Amcorp..yeaps. I've been eating in the canteen everyday except for Tuesday. Went out for lunch with Karen Ong from JC, whose also working in J&J but different department. Canteen food is kinda good. But it depends, Some days it's good some days it isn't. BUT..it's cheap! :)
How's my boss like? hmm.. she' nice, patient. Ahh.. trust me she's nice, she's really patient with me, she doesn't flare up when I make mistakes (So far lar..) and, she borrowed me her tag to buy stuffs at our staff shop since my card will only be activated for the staff shop next month, AND since she's a full time worker and I'm a contract worker, the prices vary a tiny bit. Permanent emloyees gets stuffs at a very very very much cheaper rate. Contract employee like me, also gets stuffs at a cheaper rate compared to non J&J peeps.
My salary? salary is seriously good enough for a fresh grad. Ah.. but I've already briefly calculated . I'm already running low in revenue. But still enough to go through every month with enough to eat, enough to wear. Besides all the expected outgoing salary, did I mention that the total cost for my car repairs cost me around RM 3###?? and that's excluding the RM ### when I had the tyres changed earlier on. Now, that's running low.
With the brain usage reaching it's peak level each day, I'll already be drained out when I reached home. I'll wash up, have my dinner, watch my quota of TV for the day (doesn't require much brain usage), head straight to bed. Wake up the next day and the cycle of the working life starts turning.
Despite work, other areas in life such as Church, JC, Cell, Guitar Class is still in the run as usual, just better! :)
Till then, everyone do take care of yourself. I'll check my mails once or twice in a week from the office, my handphone will be on, so yeah, I still can be contacted.
MSN, Yahoo Msger is a NO-NO in office, even if it is, my status would probably be offline, away, busy or idle. So yeah..why bother. *hmrph..*
All in all, I really do thank God for this job, my results, friends, colleagues, ministry, family, things in the past, present and things to come. Indeed, HE is my Lord, great comforter, everfaithful friend, and loving heavenly Father. Thank you JESUS.
*out*
